Introduction
Heyo! My name is Ruby and I just wanted to drop a quick intro post to say hello. I'm going to be playing Lady Maria from Bloodborne. The Doll was actually made to resemble her in body, voice, and gesture. Confusion will abound as people run into these two, I'm sure (and very excited for!)
In short, she's a distant character whose a fierce warrior, but a compassionate comrade to those in need. She's very willing to help others, even if her personality is outwardly cold. She's very formal and will likely refer to most individuals she meets with Sir or Lady, as she grew up among the nobility of her world.
I'm very open to tagging anybody and everybody, but I admit I'm going to be 100% canon blind to most things. Maria isn't open to any shipping, but she'll mentor the heck out of anybody who she feels needs it. She's very concerned with honor and doing what's right. She won't ask questions before attacking, if she discovers someone is up to no good. Overall, she should be pretty helpful, as she's very skilled in combat against all kinds of horrible things.
If anybody wants to add me on Plurk, my username is "Rubygraves" and that's the easiest place to reach me! PMing this account is also totally cool.

My interpretation is that she died in the waking world and her conscious became trapped in the Hunter's Nightmare afterward, as apart of the Curse of Kos. She had discovered the Fishing Village, and thus the curse, while alive so she understood the atrocities done there. She guarded the tower as a means to cull/spare other Hunters, believing the village should not be violated any further. I should also note I'm going with a more motherly/caretaker interpretation on the whole.

His canon is pretty intense, but deeply reading heavy, as it's been ongoing since 1987 and is pretty much a pastiche of every sci fi and fantasy thing you've had access to.

That's super cool though! It must be nice (and frustrating) to have sooooo much to grab from for a character. Maria was pretty smooth for me, considering Bloodborne's "open to interpretation" kind of lore. I'm always up for critique, by the way, as she's a new character for me (I should post an HMD soon). I'm sure there's tons of other interpretations of her!
