A Quick Announcement Regarding IC Knowledge

Recently it has been brought to our attention that there has been some info-modding and canon-puncture going on within the game.

While we gladly encourage all of you to explore the setting and have your characters learn more about themselves and their new town, there are some things that we must insist are adhered to.

Characters who possess any knowledge of the canonical events of Puella Magi Madoka Magica must have their memories rewritten or erased upon entry to Nyoi-cho. This covers canonical PMMM characters, CRAUs, and characters who have knowledge of anime/manga within canon. This is done so that all players have an even playing field and the reveals within the game have the same amount of weight to all characters.

As this is a game that is heavily reliant upon mystery, we want to ensure that the mystery remains and no one has their fun ruined prematurely.

In addition to this, please contact the mods if you wish to attempt something directly relating to things within canon. Though the game is based off of PMMM, it has its own unique traits, quirks, logic, and limitations. This means that certain things within canon will not function the same way they do in the game, and some may not even be possible to attempt.

Furthermore, as there appears to be some confusion regarding what the characters know, we would like to remind players that no concrete knowledge regarding the existence of witches or grief seeds has been doled out thus far. There is also nothing concrete about the true nature of soul gems. At this moment, characters only know that they fight creatures known as "Nightmares" on a daily basis in order to cleanse their soul gems and that soul gems are the source of their magic.

Naturally, a lot happened during the March event that may lead characters to theorize about the true role of a magi or true nature of a soul gem, and our intention is not to cut down on such theorizing. We encourage characters to draw their own conclusions from the information that they have been given so far. We only ask that players be more mindful of the limited nature of such information.

In short, OOC knowledge =/= IC knowledge. If you're here with us, it's a safe bet that you know the series. However, please do not allow this knowledge to bleed into what your character may know. You're always welcome to ask us questions if you're ever uncertain!

Thank you.
