Apple looked at the dolls and is under their influence! She's been hearing vocies, seeing things, and feeling low-grade paranoia, but I've been playing it as she can get a lot more lucid when she's focusing on/talking to other people.

eta: totally missed the part about linking to an ongoing thread, Apple's pretty shocked and terrified by the deaths here, which could be an opportunity for her paranoia to start up again.

Chiaki has been staring at the dolls quite a lot. She has been having headaches, hearing low voices, and seeing things out of the corner of her eye.

Chiaki is currently investigating the bodies.

LET'S TRY THIS ONE MORE TIME.

okay so the game plan as of this point in the fight seems to be as follows:

☇ bonnie and madoka along with several others from the may labyrinth/witchmare are aware that specific items and whatnot seem to have an effect

☇ chiaki found the plain doll's hairpin, which anyone who had seen the doll in the past would have seen her wearing and could potentially recognize if they remembered

so you may see where this is going and this seems to be the current plan of action

☇ someone (bonnie, madoka, someone present for march) puts forth the idea of finding something that might have an effect on the witch/witchmare/nightmare/THE FUCKIN MOON YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN

☇ someone else (diarmuid, kakyoin, someone who knew the doll/could recognize the hairpin) points out that chiaki found exactly such a thing

☇ get hairpin from chiaki and probably have someone (bonnie, probably) climb up the chains to stick it in the moon/gears/do god only knows what

☇ ????????????????????????????????????????????

☇ either this kills us all, helps us, or does nothing

ETA: we may also want to potentially look into cutting/picking the flowers without touching them since touching the dolls or that white stuff knocks us the heck out--the dolls seem to be connected to the meadow through them and severing that might do something (see previous point of killing us, helping us, or nothing)

ALRIGHTY FOLKS.

So, we've been able to establish that the dolls are connected to the meadow beneath them with some form of white thread. Touching the white thread (or any white liquid from a doll fills you with an intense amount of insight it seems, which causes further headaches and saps your energy. The moon gets indented as the dolls get destroyed, and the magi's insight headaches seem to fade a little.

As of the second phase, the moon itself is beaming out a strange energy which with it, brings stronger headaches and stronger hallucinations. Still, the gears grinding the dolls causes further indentations in the moon, which has been getting chipped away at by the magi and currently, we're hit an insight goldmine.

HERE ARE SOME THINGS FROM THIS:
→ Stopping, or slowing down the gears fractures the moon. While there were indents as the dolls were ground in, the gears stopping momentarily when the chain connecting the Plain Doll and Maria was severed did the most damage in creating hairline fractures.
→ The dolls are connected to the meadow via the same white blood/liquid/thread that provides insight.
→ The moon is radiating insight right now.
→ Destroying the dolls relieves the pain, but it's hard to ignore the huge-ass moon that's radiating insight.
→ also theres something in the moon
→ The gears are connected to the moon, but would it make sense for something connected to the moon to continue to do things that weaken it? After all, the chains are connected to the gears themselves, and they're pulling in the dolls.

The question is, where do we go from there? Stopping the gears themselves would probably cause the moon to shatter completely, though it looks like the magi are already well on their way to begin with. So.

-Do we attack the moon directly, fighting through the insight now that it's getting closer and closer to being destroyed?
-Do we try one more attack on the gears, trying to get it to stop long enough to create another fracture which may just completely destroy it?

As noted here Azula is pretty much about to explode from how much direct contact she's had starring at the Moon up close.

So she'll be pitching to the ground to recover, loaded with paranoia, anger and fear. So business as usual. The only difference is her head is SO PAINFUL.

But what can a hairpin do? Diarmuid is badly affected. The only thing keeping him from attacking the others is that his empathy is telling him they are friends, not foes.
