(June 27-July 3)

The end of the month has arrived, and that means it's time for activity check. To pass AC, players need to type up a short paragraph explaining what their character has spent the month doing. Please provide links alongside your paragraph so that moderators can easily verify that said activity exists.

If you were accepted in the month of June or were on hiatus for at least two weeks, you need only check in by replying to this post.
If you are currently on hiatus, you can fill out AC after returning or get another player to fill out your AC for you.

Activity: she's new, i ain't gotta explain shit

Character: Raven Queen
Activity:

The month began with Raven helping Madoka come to terms with her guilt, and trying to understand what happened to Kakyoin. Things then took a shocking turn when her best friend forever after showed up, and she discussed the uncomfortable feelings that came with this with Azula. Once she cooled down, she offered to help Apple discover her magic and train her powers. Things then got ugly and uncomfortable when she visited Alice's house, but later Raven got a hint of normalcy by clothes shopping.

During the festival, she let down her guard, having fun with friends . But as these always do, the fun ended and the horror began. Upon discovering the deaths of her friends and mentors, Raven became enraged, and became smash-happy, until she found the dolls were sort of alive. Hallucinations made her see her friends as enemies until Bonnie knocked her out. What would she learn when she awoke?

Character: Sandy Marko
Activity: Sandy made sure to show up at the group meeting, but she had much more fun at the festival, donating blood, running the obstacle course, drawing pictures for people and embarrassing onion lady.

Character: Azula
Activity: After the events of last month Azula has decided to try and work through her fear of water. It had...not very progressive results. But at least she's found some people who would support her.

She also let her thoughts on leadership known, and had a great time at the festival before it all became a terrible nightmare and she attacked the moon.

Activity: Attempted a hiatus though that didn't really work out as planned :,3

Activity: ehhh I'm gonna be lazy this month because I'm allowed

Character: Sayaka Miki
Activity: I didn't get around to officially declaring a hiatus, so that's on me. If this continues into next month I'll be dropping her until things settle.

For simplicity's sake, post-witchmare Sayaka ended up going native. She was mercifully not at the festival at the time of the witch's arrival.

Character: Kyouko Sakura
Activity: At the festival, Kyouko was sucked into a labyrinth and ran into Ryoko, whom she saved from a doppelganger of herself. The two then had an awkward conversation in which Kyouko confronted her on stabbing her to death and demanded an explanation. Later on, Kyouko, pissed about how her gem wasn't purified from defeating the boss, made a network post where she asked about it and learned that there was evidence of creatures known as "Witches."

Character: Dave Strider
Activity: Dave reformed in Jane's house early on and had a very awkward conversation with her. He then greeted Ichimatsu through the mirrors. After that, he attended an information mingle and shared his dungeon findings with the other magi. During the labyrinth, Dave ran into a doll that looked like Dirk Strider and flipped out.

Character: Chara
Activity: During the festival, Chara was sucked into a labyrinth and responded to Shinoa's mirror message about how no one should attack the source of the labyrinth. They were antagonistic. Later on, Chara saw Bonnie, whom they taunted for sacrificing herself in battle to trying - and failing - to take out a device that was necessary for the magi to win.

Activity: He was accepted this month!

Player: Nao
Character: Noriaki Kakyoin (AU)
Activity: You know what's neat? Festivals are neat. Except when it's this one. Among various other little things, Kakyoin continued to have Serious Issues this month which only got worse with the city's first actual witch. Highlights of events that practically require Yakety Sax plated in a minor key include hallucinating Bonnie as a monster and getting his ass kicked by a small child, playing murder investigation with Madoka and a similarly hallucinating Diarmuid, and going full protag speech on Madoka. Twice. Currently he's trying with limited success to pull himself together for a change.

Character: B.B. Hood
Activity: Last time on Soulgemmed, ol Baby Bonnie here fought with Lilith, which wound up wrecking her throat and putting them both in the hospital for a little bit. After getting out, she made a trip to the library, where she met one of the new magi in town. And she collected some reading material, some of which we may or may not hear about later! After everyone had time to rest post-dungeon, Bonnie made a call for everyone to gather and present their findings, which went pretty well, all things considered! She would attend the lantern festival, and would be sucked into the boss battle, where she'd make a very, very stupid move. She's back in the hosptial now, and who knows when she'll be let out.

Character: Ryoko Asakura
Activity: Last time, Ryoko incidentally killed someone. WA-HEY. Ryoko continued laying low for the most part until the aforementioned magi meeting, where she presented the idea of everyone introducing themselves, to get a better idea of who everyone actually is. She was excited to hear about the festival, being given some time to actually relax, but it wound up being a pretty bad pipe dream. In the process of everything going on, Ryoko would make yet another mistake as a magi, attacking Asriel and Taiga. After coming back with a word of warning, she allowed Taiga to strike at her arm, and currently, while it might not be physical, she's a bit of a mess right now.

Character: Ichimatsu Matsuno
Activity: Ichimatsu made his great debut on the mirrors, being tricked by his magical cat companion into talking to other people. How horrible. For the most part he's been sticking to himself as expected, only leaving his house to go to the festival... which turned into him getting stared at by the dolls. During the boss battle, he would see something important, but then immediately touch it, lose control of his powers, and attack Sandy-- resulting in him getting dumped into a hole and klonked on the head. He's currently nursing a headache.

Character: Diarmuid Ua Duibhne (Lancer)
Activity: Much was learned this month, but very little of it good. It started out with something that, while dangerous and upsetting, could be handled: a new power of the mirrors. Wary (but perhaps not wary enough) of the mirrors new found abilities, Diarmuid made a post of his own telling people about the pictures he and Kakyoin found in the dungeon and offering them to anyone who wanted theirs.

When everyone met to share information, Diarmuid was sure to be there to hand out what pictures were left, share his powers and some of his history to help others know him better. He also put in his two cents about leadership, first backing Kakyoin for leader, but then also suggesting alternative methods when he realized just how much is friend did NOT want the role.

The festival seemed like it would be a good learning experience at first. Diarmuid learned about games with Ryoko, met Alice again after thinking she was sent away, and ran into a new friend in the form of Sieglinde. Of course, that wouldn't last long and he soon found himself and his loyal dog, warning Madoka and Kakyoin about the dangers of the dolls, hiding in an alley from shadow creatures with Pokey and meeting a newly arrived Ringo. Really, all he wanted to do was get out of the strange place they had been brought to where things moved out of the shadows and whispers plagued him all the time. Unfortunately, the escape that was offered only made things worse.

Strongly affected by the headaches caused by the dolls, it didn't take Diarmuid long to start seeing his fellow magi as monsters. However, thanks to his empathy and the patience of some of his fellow magi, he realized what he was seeing was an illusion and stopped fighting them. It's a shame that knowing the truth of the illusion didn't help him be able to communicate with his fellows as he still heard them speaking in monster sounds instead of words. Thankfully, he could still read and Kakyoin was patient enough to write down things for him in the notebook he had along. Diarmuid was able to provide some important insight (much to his dread) about the hair ornament that was found in the hut with the Doll and Maria's bodies. When the horrible truth of what was going on came out, Diarmuid couldn't help but silently beg for a way to bring his friend back. His hope would not last long, though, when his empathy was all but overwhelmed by the LOVE coming from the approaching hordes and even though he was confused by the sudden change of plans when it came to attacking, in the end, he found some peace with what had to be done.

Peace doesn't make goodbyes any easier, though. Helping his fellows does, but only a little. This is a wound that is going to take a long time to heal from, if they can ever heal from it.

In the meantime, all they can do is try to pick up the pieces and do their best to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Character: Lemmy Koopa
Activity:

Lemmy was not very helpful with discussing the new revelations that came from the previous month. For starters, he thought the pictures of the original group of magi were the product of an enthusiastic fan and not something more nefarious. At the mingle, he proposed the idea of looking for mushrooms for extra lives, and signed on for the train trip because trains are cool.

At the festival, Lemmy performed a magic show until everything went pear-shaped. Thanks to his passive ability, he attracted too many dolls and came under their influence, but Sieglinde showed up to help! Of course, things got worse. Lemmy and Ichimatsu discovered that touching the strings made bad things happen, and then they rejoined the group, only to find that they've turned into hideous brain monsters!! Except not really. By the end of the battle, Lemmy was barely hanging on and ended up getting incredibly sick by the time it was all over.

Player: Ni
Character: Madoka Kaname
Activity: Madoka started out the month apologizing for her Nightmare. She learned of another function of the mirrors, and attended Bonnie's meeting. Among other things, she helped translated the runes and learned what both maps said. Oh dear. When the festival happened, she helped run the blood drive booth until the "Nightmare" happened. Madoka was one of the few people who didn't develop a headache going into...the battle. Madoka was affected by the seeming death of the Doll and Maria, and ultimately was the first to attack, but wasn't sure what to do against the enemy, overall, wavering between being peaceful and not as the battle dragged on. Ultimately, it turned out the Doll was a Witch, and the fact that Madoka - no one, really - could save her...a fact that really hit Madoka hard. She's struggling to keep a hopeful outlook, and to uplift others, and along with Kakyoin tried to reach out to Sachiko. Oh, and Kyouko may have made her question things about herself yet again.

TD;LR Madoka's month could have gone better.

Player: Riki
Character: Vergil
Activity: Minimal. Like, even ICly minimal. The May event really messed Vergil up, in small thanks to witnessing the deaths of those close-ish to him and facing his own demise during his exploration. After the previous Nightmare battle, Vergil was nowhere to be seen. He kept to himself for a majority of June and save for coming into work regularly and hunting Nightmares on his own, he spent his time training, disciplining himself. Facing his own mortality like that shook him up greatly, showed him that he was still weak, even after all of this time. And he even let others grow on him...

He made a more official return when the boss of the event revealed itself, when he was inadvertently dragged along. After making his way to the main battle, he met a confused Diarmuid in battle, unaware that the Vergil he saw was a monster illusion projected by the moon. Vergil emerges from the battle in well enough condition and after assisting in the moon's defeat, scoffed at what left others heartbroken. Others did not take this well, particularly Loken. He at least found singularity in Azula, who also waved off the battle as a mere victory than anything bittersweet. Vergil left the battlefield as quickly as he appeared, returning home from another battle that didn't bring him any closer to gaining power.

He discussed this much with Kyouko, who seemed to share his sentiments. Vergil finds himself wondering what the point of these creatures are, if they don't even purify soul gems. He's left to wonder why his only source of power so far is embracing that which he refused to acknowledge back home. Karmic retribution, he supposes. However, this wouldn't be Vergil if he readily accepted facts that contradicted his desires...

Player: Bee
Character: Lilith
Activity: After ending the month in the hospital, yet again, Lilith's been in rough shape! Turns out getting stabbed isn't much fun. She spoke with Madoka after Madoka's Nightmare, stressing the poor girl out even further. Of course, she'd be silly to turn down going to the meeting hosted by her very, very best friend, right? More seriously, she does have a few more meaningful conversations, including juggling Soul Gems, the deliciousness of chocolate and her plans for destroying Bonnie, and trying to figure out what kind of shrooms Lemmy was eating. During the super awesome fun festival, she tackles Shinoa and Bonnie's obstacle course! And nearly gives Pokey a heart attack.

Character: Taiga Aisaka
Activity: Taiga was dragged along to the meeting along with Ryoko, where she gave a heartfelt intro and generally was a pain in the butt to everyone else around. She's also around for the festival and Nightmare, which goes about as well as you could expect. During the boss fight, Taiga tries real hard to be useful! So, so hard. Unfortunately, she comes between a hallucinating Ryoko and Asriel and, in saving Asriel ends up being attacked by Ryoko. This... doesn't go over well, sending Taiga into a bit of a panic. Or a lot of one. She says and does some regrettable things and manages to be useless, the entire boss fight. To end the month, Taiga talks with Kyouko about being a Magi.

Activity: Accepted this month, yo!

Player: Pedro
Character: Alice

Activity: She's just returned to this place, and several people got to experience first hand what fighting to not have a nightmare is like. Alice, however, was not fine with just doing this, and has made sure to be social up to the start of this new festival.

She observes some of her friends take a turn for the strange, although she does enjoy herself a little bit. She even meets someone new!

Seeing one of her closest friends reduced to this, however, has dampened her spirits.

Character: Asriel Dreemurr
Activity:

Asriel spent the first part of June locked up in his house, after poorly coping with his own death. He finally ventured out to check out June's magi meeting, the first time he was out of his house in a while. Asriel then went to the festival, where he played games and got some misinformation about Japanese food. He was also chased around by a monster with Pokey after getting sucked into the alternate Nyoi-Cho. During the boss fight, Asriel was attacked and stabbed through the leg by Ryoko, who was under the influence of the hallucinations, and saved by Taiga. Later, he joined Ryoko and Sieglinde to discuss strategy, though Asriel didn't have anything to offer. He was taken out of the fight completely when he used Star Blazing to help clear the field of dolls.

Character: Pokey Minch
Activity:

Pokey started the month by being perplexed by Ichimatsu and then checking in on Kakyoin after his freakout on the mirror. Pokey participated in the town meeting that Bonnie held, with his big contribution being suggesting a much more free-form idea of how to organize teams. He also had an interesting experience giving his backstory. Pokey attended the festival, and when that all went to shit he got caught in the doll's gaze. He didn't do much during the battle, although after it he did hang out with Kakyoin again to try and comfort him.

Player: Elaine
Character: Jane Crocker
Activity: This month was not kind to Jane Crocker. Just before it began, Dave's return gave her a nasty shock, as his words from before his death and his unusual starting appearance threw her for a complete loop. A few days later, she met this grumpy fellow through the mirrors, and though he seems stubborn and anti-social, he is new to things and she did her best to be informative and polite. When a magi meeting was announced, Jane attended, talking to some others in order to start properly entrenching herself into how things work here. It feels a bit like an uphill battle to her, but this is a good start! Lastly, Jane was very happy to attend the festival, running into familiar faces until things began to get...well...fucking weird.

The trailing off of her activity towards the end of the month was caused by my week away from home, and if that's a problem in any capacity I am willing to take a strike or talk things out with anyone if necessary.

Player: Kya
Character: CRAU Sollux
Activity: So! This month Soren still did a lot of hiding in his house, but he did actually start taking things a little more seriously and getting involved and, you know, talking to people. Small steps! He was obnoxious about stalkers, went to the meeting, caught Sollux arguing with a librarian over a picture that looked eerily like he used to, went to the festival, and ran around the nightmare like an idiot. He also talked to Sollux a couple times. All in all, not too bad a month for a shy kid still trying to get his bearings.

Player: Paul

Character: Chiaki Nanami
Activity: After the trauma of May, Chiaki began the month by reassuring Madoka that it wasn't her fault she turned into a nightmare. She also tried to help Azula deal with her fear of water. Chiaki arrived late at a catch-up meeting hosted by Bonnie, provided information, and discussed with Sollux a lot of things by mostly video games.

During the event, Chiaki made a beanbag toss game with Sollux. When the witch arrived, things quickly went sideways and Madoka ended up staring at dolls a lot. This ended in tragedy during the boss fight when, attempting a pacifist solution, Chiaki was knocked unconscious, and was useless for the rest of the fight. She awoke to find her friends mourning the Doll's death. Chiaki checked in with Kakyoin and Bonnie afterwards.

Player: Paul
Character: Rose Lalonde
Activity: Rose was not immensely helpful or present during June, mostly attributed to her significant shock upon arriving in a new world completely intact. However, she did show her face at the festival (including getting Sieglinde some new clothes) and found time to catch up with her brother once things went bad. She was a late arrival to the boss battle, but was on the frontlines nonetheless, and among the confused mourners afterwards.

Before the month ended, Rose had time to make a solid ally in Sieglinde and a solid enemy in Kyouko.

Player: Aki
Character: Solllux
Activity: The month starts out with Sollux meeting with Madoka after her nightmare. He does his best to fulfill his moirail duties, and later Madoka returns the favor when she talks with him after mishaps at the library. A conversation with Soren he has afterwards lends him a greater understanding of the human turned troll. Of course, along with everyone else he shows up at the informational meeting at the lodge to organize and theorize with the others. Here, more arguing with Ryoko and mentoring by Madoka teach him the importance of self introductions. Of course no group meeting is complete without some yelling at Azula, so that happens too.

Later at the festival Sollux and Chiaki team up to man a both together. predictably everyone who shows up gets along with Chiaki and hates Sollux. This of course transitions into Sollux elegantly failing to deal with the nightmare that happens right afterward.

Player: Terra
Character: Mikleo
Activity:Mikleo began this month with slightly lecturing Madoka because he was concerned with her health and well being. After he saw how sad she was, he tried to cheer her up by offering to make her a parfait. He met a few people, but than accidentally splashed Azula with water when he was practicing his magic. He spoke to Diamuid about the previous dungeon and how some pictures were taken at some point. Mikleo decided that he should really get a cell phone or something for better communication, but has zero idea how to use it. Mikleo also participated in the nightmare, but he's been affected by the dolls and soul gem corruption. He was all over the place trying to help out though.
