Activity Check
(April 29-May 5)
The end of the month has arrived, and that means it's time for activity check. To pass AC, players need to type up a short paragraph explaining what their character has spent the month doing. Please provide links alongside your paragraph so that moderators can easily verify that said activity exists. If you were accepted in the month of April or were on hiatus for at least two weeks, you need only check in by replying to this post. If you are currently on hiatus, you can fill out AC after returning or get another player to fill out your AC for you. |

Activity: Hiatused. Checking in.

Character: Rue
Activity: Accepted this month. Checking in!

Character: Yuri Plisetsky
Activity: Okay so. The first thing Yuri did when Minami-ku opened up was talk to the lady running Constellations. At the mall, he sort of investigated with Kaine and made it across the river with her. He was kind of useless during the fight, but he did try to help Asakura and Mettaton recover from their injuries. Also he attempted to verbally 1v1 Kaneko.
Now he's kinda just doing w/e, joined a gang, and wants a dance studio.

Character: Shaundi
Activity: Accepted in April, checking in!
Character: Kainé
Activity: Kainé spent most of the month exploring Glitch City. She fought some mysterious inky enemies with Bonnie, and when she found a clue she knew nothing about, handed it off to her. She also hung out with Yurio, her new friend, and gave him her cell phone, claiming that she didn't need it. All that's just a prelude to the battle with the Witch. During the fight, she attacked a familiar, causing her to become Shadowed for the rest of the fight. This didn't stop her from having a big fight with Bonnie for telling her not to be a dumbass and attacking the Witch. Still, the Shadowing effect later caused Kaine to go berserk, and the only thing that stopped her from trying to kill Pokey, Asriel, and Mettaton was Lucifer kicking her ass. After the battle ended, she thanked him for stopping her. She's been hanging out with Pokey and Dito since then, and has absolutely no idea about the larger Leadership Crisis going on during the month.

Character: Osomatsu Matsuno
Activity: oh geez. So Osomatsu started off April by scouring the new city with the rest of the Magi. he found several clues that he took with him to Bonnie's meeting. Even though he did not understand everything that was going on, he made a valiant effort to stay involved throughout the month. During the boss battle, Osomatsu participated by tossing a lot of fireballs at the Witch, and he didn't die, which was a positive (though he did almost drown)! and since he didn't kill any familiars, he didn't go after his fellow Magi. in the end, he was still confused, even though he survived. over the next few days, he did a little mingling with various people. and he also discovered that maybe he doesn't hate Dito that much.

Character: Diana Ladris
Activity: Diana started off the month meeting and greeting a couple of new arrivals. Then she went and explored the new cities, doing some window shopping with Osomatsu that lead to a nice find. Then she bumped into his brother and was less than impressed but she was soon back to having fun dancing with Azula. At Bonnie's gathering she showed off her find before things turned sour for everyone and she had to comfort Azula who was feeling that bad vibes of the labyrinth. After the fallout, she shared her irritation about things with Jughead before heading down to Shaundi's beach party.

Character: Jughead Jones
Activity: Accepted in April. Checking in!
Character: Baby Bonnie Hood
Activity: B.B. took the challenge of a new city with a smile on her face, entering into the new territory with a sprightly outlook on things! She started by meeting a new 'friend' in Kaneko Kouzai. Unfortunately, the friendship didn't last too long. In the meantime, she started to work on her style just a bit and continued to try deciphering hints with everyone, leading to her calling another meeting.
Kouzai's information led to her having a quick meeting with Gary before the Witch descended upon them. Being one of the ones who attacked the familiars, Bonnie briefly lost herself until the Witch's song ended, and then she made her attempt to bring it down with... varying amounts of luck. She also threw Dito into the Witch which was funtimes. What wasn't fun was dealing with the aftermath, realizing how irritating change was, whilst still evading any responsibilty for anything stupid she may have done during the Witch. Even in hearing Kouzai's proclamation, she came to the conclusion: no one goes to Minami-ku, no one loses their heads.
After Kakyoin's proclamation that everyone should stay away from Kouzai, Bonnie decided to not only elucidate a little further while offering her services to train yet again. At this point, she's taken on three students: Taiga, Yuri, and Rue. She rounds out the month by making a move to give up Kouzai's number to Kakyoin, only to get stopped at the door by Abdul and have to face consequences for lying.
Character: Ryoko Asakura
Activity: Ryoko didn't have a good month.
While she wanted to be a little more careful in proceeding, but she wound up finding clues. Worse than that: finding one of the clues led to her having to fight against a magi for the first time. Her emotions started to boil over, having been branded a coward and again, realizing that she doesn't know how the magi world works. It ended with her meeting Arabella, and regaining a sense of pride in her work.
Through fighting Laurent she wound up with Sachiko's phone, and she presented that on to Kakyoin, and started to feel a bit better. That was, until she recieved a mysterious, threatening text message. At that point, Ryoko spread the word like she asked. That led to her getting involved in the battle against the Witch. While those who had followed Kakyoin to the familiars fell unconscious, Ryoko tried to keep Asriel from killing himself, only to be attacked by Lilith and watching him die, followed by Sayaka accidentally throwing her all into her punch to kill Lilith. She pulled herself away to try and help whoever could still fight, and wound up getting mad at Shinoa, resulting in her punching her and telling her to go away.
In trying to make herself useful to others, she was attacked by sharp bamboo and was sliced badly, leaving her a bloodied mess. Ryoko came close to death, but with Taiga's help and the last of her magic being used to heal herself with her Closed Space as well as a last minute save by Rue, she got by a mess, but still alive. In the end, she got bored and started making a lot of pastries, trying to pick up her own pieces as she looks forward to May. And hopefully: her own training.
Character: Karamatsu Matsuno
Activity: Karamatsu's usefulness continues to be close to nil, though he helped and found clues with Bro at the maid cafe and shared the results with everyone. It turned out his brother wasn't nearly as willing to share his dango, but helped him find a clue at the sweets shop. He spent a little bit of time at the movie theaters with Osomatsu, but when it came to fighting the Witch? He stayed right at home, only to help Osomatsu pick up the pieces. Karamatsu rounds out the month by potentially joining a gang.

Character: Noriaki Kakyoin (AU)
Activity: You know what's awful? Everything. In summary, Kakyoin spent a solid amount of time all but turning Chusei-shi upside down looking for Sachiko, primarily with Madoka and Ryoko. Somewhere along the line he also developed an oddly pale acquaintance with Dirk.
Needless to say, the investigation ended badly, and the results were something Kakyoin had a lot of trouble coping with. Which, naturally, led him to do all kinds of stupid things to get an advantage against the resulting Witch.
Once that was over, Kakyoin tried to pick up whatever was left of his sanity; along the way, it finally clicked that he couldn't and instead decided to throw up his hands and let everyone else handle themselves, officially resigning as semi-official leader.

Character: Lemmy
Activity:
First, Lemmy got on the internet, which went as well as expected.
When the path to the city opens, he went to Hot Topic, then immediately got into trouble and met a new friend!...maybe? Either way, they were being watched and Lemmy is warned to stay away. He wasn't too keen on that, though, because they had FINALLY found Arabella!!
Everything went pear-shaped, and Lemmy was of little help during the boss battle as usual. The battle took its toll on him, though, and as people started dying he started getting desperate, using up most of his magic before the battle even ended. When it was finally over, he was more than happy to GTFO.
Unwinding at the end of the month, he attended a stoner party and saw a dragon. Both of these events are entirely unrelated, believe it or not.

Character: Diarmuid Ua Duibhne (Lancer)
Activity: April was a frustrating month for Diarmuid. Due to being badly injured during the battle with Miki and Hoshiko's Witches, there was very little he could do to help out his fellow magi. He did manage to do a little brainstorming about the mystery city with Ryoko and even visited it briefly, where he ran into Lucifer at a bakery and found a rather interesting photo. Once back in Nyoi-cho, he was able to make a new magi's transition a little easier, however, when it came time to fight Hatsu's witch, all he could do is stand on the far side of the stream and watch as there was no way he could cross it with a broken arm and a barely working leg. Talk about frustrating!
Once the battle was over and he was finally healed enough to actually do something, Diarmuid wasted little time in doing so, volunteering to go with Mettaton Nightmare hunting since his gem was in great need of a cleansing and then volunteering to horse-sit for Laurent.
Character: Mohammed Abdul
Activity: Not surprisingly, April was much busier for Abdul than it was for Diarmuid considering how close to Hatsu Kakyoin was and how many people the fortune teller has taken under his wing. He talked to Dito over the mirrors about the boy's 'interesting' fashion choices and later had a discussion with Pokey about how spotty everyone's memories in the new city were. During that discussion he learned that Bonnie had run into a girl who smelled very strongly of incense. He decided to go looking for her so he could speak to her himself. While looking for her, he ran into Kakyoin which gave him a chance to check in on his friend to see how he was doing and if there was any news on Hatsu's whereabouts. He eventually did find the girl and was surprised to find his initial distrust of her quickly fading into concern and sadness as he learned more about her and her past. Later, when he and Kakyoin were out looking for Hatsu, they finally did find her, but the encounter hardly goes the way any of them wanted it to.
When he and Kakyoin were forced away from Hatsu as she changed into a Witch, Abdul ended up striking his head hard enough that he got a concussion. Not only that, his previous head injury--thanks there Emperor--was aggravated once again, leaving him unable to immediately follow Kakyoin into battle despite wanting to. When he is finally able to make it to the battle, the sight that greets him is a chaotic one. After taking aim at the Witch's heart to try and damage it, he catches Dito as the young man is thrown away from their enemy and makes sure to get him over to one of the healers. While the boy is unpredictable, he is also aware and able to control himself. His skills are needed desperately with so many other magi out of commission or dead. With Dito in safe hands, he speaks with Dirk on the next steps they should take and does his best to follow the plan. When things go south as they so often do, he finally steps up and starts giving orders himself, following up strong words with equally strong action. One familiar down and another to go, so more orders follow, careful but firm as they are losing far to many of their own as this battle continues. Initially wanting to finish off this familiar as quickly as possible, he instead ends up focusing his fire on the Witch at Dito's request since there is only so much a close-ranged fighter can dodge at one time, and they have been ignoring the Witch for far too long. His attack does more damage than he anticipates, but that doesn't mean they are out of the woods. More trouble appears and takes direct aim at him. Thankfully, the newly awakened Kakyoin is able to help him deal with it so he can remain focused on the Witch's heart. Both magi are distracted when they realize the last familiar attacking them is either a projection of Kaneko--the girl Abdul met before--or possibly the magi herself since she would have also been pulled into the battle. They attempt to talk to her with...interesting results. Relieved to find out the familiar is not the real Kaneko, Abdul then turns his attention to finishing the battle, though he has one last promise to make Hatsu before he helps send her to her rest.
Not surprisingly, Kakyoin contacts Abdul shortly after the battle. He asks if he can stay over at Abdul's house and the fortunate teller is happy to agree. Before Kakyoin arrives, though Abdul makes an important phone call and then finally meets up with Dito to let the boy see his arms and hear the story of what happened. Surprising him greatly, the conversation eventually becomes more serious leading to Abdul finding out a great deal about the boy's terrible past. This is not the only serious talk Abdul will have with his friends and fellow magi over the next few weeks. He also has a long conversation with Kakyoin about how he is handling his grief, an equally long conversation with Pokey once the young man has awakened from his death, and finally a rather tense conversation with Bonnie about how she handled returning Kaneko's phone strap to her.
All this and he is still recovering from that concussion. Here's hoping May is a little quieter.

Character: Gary Smith
Activity: OKAY so Gary investigated the the schools with Dave and found a weird poster that led them to go speak to the lady running the flower shop which was a frustrating ordeal as she kept forgetting stuff mid-conversation. Afterwards he went looking around in Kita-ku where a few people approached him while he was messing around on a keyboard. One of them being Sandy, who kicked him in the shin after he laughed at her. The other being Bro Strider, who Gary was immediately unhappy to see and tried as quickly as possible to extract (of course Bro gave him trouble) himself from the situation, knowing that if he did or said anything bad that could get back to Dave he'd be in trouble. But the most intense encounter was with Lilith. He expressed his disinterest in talking to her which she couldn't understand. He implied that he never thought about her which set her off, and when he didn't respond in fear to her threatening demeanor and in fact laughed at her she got pissed and roundhouse kicked him in the face. From the floor and in great pain, never being one to let anyone think that physically hurting him is a loss for him, called her nothing. This got to her and she left him there.
He then called Dave and told him what happened and asked for Dave to keep an eye and ear out for her but to not do anything. He spent the boss battle across the river with Dave and Dirk (until he went full Dirk that is) nursing his kicked in face. But right before the battle he met with Bonnie and discussed some information stuffs. He also expressed his issues with having a leader and explained why he thought he was no less responsible for all the fuckery then the other Magi. As does anything involving Gary, the post exploded. He defended his points, got annoyed when Dave texted him to stop arguing with Dirk, and attempted to sway a newbie to his side. In the end, despite him believing his points were ignored, considers it a success as the leader has now stepped down.
Character: Butch DeLoria
Activity:
After Butch got into a fight with Bro he decided he needed to get his gang started pronto. He did a lot of looking around at the different Magi to see who would be a good fit, but of course got a little distracted by pre war food and hair product. He ate a lot, shopped some, and met Jimmy Hopkins who he almost immediately got into a fight with. The fight was cut short when Butch threw something at his head and ran, slipping over a note that spoke about fugue. It unnerved him so when Jimmy suggested they share it with someone he he did. He also got an explanation on what happened in March but he still doesn't fully understand it.
He did what he could during the fight but mostly held back because magic and witches are way different than raiders and mutants. Afterwards he eventually made a sinewave post looking for potential gang members as he realized that he couldn't afford to be too picky if he wanted to establish a group to stick together in the mess that is Nyoi-cho.

Character: Pokey Minch
Activity: Everything is fubar.
Upon first getting a look at the glitching city, Pokey freaked out a little and kind of held back on looking around too much. When he eventually began investigating he met the mothers of Saito and Ohka and has taken up gardening as a hobby because of it to help tend the graves of Cyborg Xpress. He messed around at the mall with Kaine some as well, taking amusement in her shenanigans. Pokey would also report his findings on the parents memories to the rest of the group, which would lead to a long conversation with Kakyoin about everything that had come before. Along with Bonnie, he would also end up theorizing about the strings that were keeping Minami-Ku contained a few days later. He would also buy a new badass shirt with Asriel.
Then the fight with Sachiko's Witch came.
Pokey spared no time crossing the bank, trying to find Asriel and Kakyoin. The fight itself was a massive mess though they hung on through most of it until Solveig's song, at which point Pokey got beheaded by Lilith. Oops.
Pokey would emerge a few days later, feeling fully unforgivable though talking with Kakyoin and Abdul helped him a lot. Pokey would also help help Asriel drag Mettaton out to Nightmare hunt. Later he would also congratulate Kakyoin on finally giving up his leadership position, fully believing it was the right thing.
Character: Lucifer
Activity: Lucifer took a relatively lax approach to exploration, as he believed that this was a sign that Kagaku had, effectively, won Cyborg Xpress' territory from them. Nevertheless, he and Diarmuid found a picture that Lucifer would help report at the next meeting.
He had a great deal of fun during the boss fight. Once the song began, he knocked out some of those who had fallen under the sway and control of Solveig's song. He continued to participate in the battle, helping take down one of the barriers that the shadow of Miki would throw up.
He would also later argue with Dirk about getting the people here to cooperate as a group.
Character: Bro Strider
Activity: Bro wasted no time in making sure the town got the full Bro Strider experience.
Bro made sure to get to what was important and start trolling the shit out of the people in town immediately, getting into a fight with Butch almost immediately and annoying the fuck out of most people. He did, however, decide that Osomatsu was okay. This wouldn't change much when investigation of the town began in proper. He would be there to give nifty fashion advice and do the impossible: steal an outfit from a maid cafe with Karamatsu. This adventure led to a much greater discovery, though it would take Bro a while to learn the actual significance of the flyers that he and Karamatsu found.
Once he began to understand the meaning of it, he would try and convince Dave that this was none of their business. He would also, briefly, fuck about and fuel Gary Smith's paranoia for just a little bit. Bro would also get a better run down of the situation from Dirk Strider, a conversation that would end with Bro drawing a line in the sand about what he cares about and attempting to offer peace and help to Dirk.
This wouldn't really last. Bro would be unimpressed with Dirk's open lashing out over the mirrors about Sinewave. This would lead to a DM conversation of Bro chewing Dirk out, and Dirk seeming to acquiesce to Bro's point of view and asking Bro to help keep an eye on conceivable trouble spots among the Magi. Bro ended up flying high from this, getting an ego boost and believing that his authority would, in a sense, be absolute among these kids like it had been with Dave back home. He was wrong.
The first sign of trouble came when he decided to test Kakyoin, deciding to see what kind of person was hanging out around Dirk and if he could hold this over Dirk's head. It didn't go well as Kakyoin, being a magi here for at least a year, proceeded to kick Bro's ass and Dirk quickly came out to do damage control. Shaken and embarrassed by his failure, Bro proceeded to be a piece of shi all over Dirk's rallying cry. If he couldn't have control, then he'd try and fuck up anyone else's sense of control as badly as he could as well. This yet again crossed a line when he started interrogating Mettaton over the mirrors, driving Dirk to absolute fury and resulting in the two shittalking each other, with Bro quickly escalating it into openly threatening Dirk. While Bro wouldn't follow through on this threat, Bro's loss of control would continue to escalate when he found out Dirk had Lil Cal. This would lead to Bro breaking into Dirk's room to reclaim his best buddy, though in the end all he'd claim was a broken arm and more shattered pride.
All in all, it was not a good month for Bro, which means he intends to make sure May ain't a good month for a lot of people.

Character: Lilith
Activity: Lilith discovered Hot Topic, which was a lot of fun! She also ended up finding something important with Osomatsu, and kicked Gary in the face because he's a nerd. That didn't end very well for her, and it led to her heading into the fight against Solveig with a desperate need for approval. That was all fine and dandy, she got to throw rocks with Dito, and was really going to try to be good! But Solveig wanted her to be extra good, so she killed Asriel and Pokey before literally getting one punched by Sayaka.
Whoops?
After that whole mess, she played soccer with Dito and apologised to Asriel.
Character: Taiga Aisaka
Activity: Taiga had a bit of a rough time during the boss fight, to say the least. She came in to see Ryoko almost die, and struggled with trying to find help for her... but it all worked out in the end, even if there were some tears. One thing was certain though: Taiga needed to get stronger, so she contacted Bonnie to train her, something that may have been a huge mistake. Ah well... Then, she got some new powers that she struggled with, mostly because she's an unbalanced, clumsy doof.
no subject
Character: Asriel Dreemurr
Activity: Asriel checked out the new city, discovering a dog monster from his world running around the city. And then snooping around some apartments with Ryoko before discovering a distressed dog in one of the rooms. Asriel later discovered a Hot Topic and proceeded to get himself some new clothes.
Later on, during the boss battle, Asriel is faced with a Witch who wants him dead for the events in March. When the boss focuses on Mettaton instead, Asriel tries to stop the Witch, only to get pulled to safety by Laurent and Ryoko, who tries to spend the rest of the fight keeping him away from the Witch. He finally rescues Mettaton after he gets injured. Unfortunately, he doesn't make it through he whole fight. Once the Witch controls everyone into targeting him, Pokey, and Mettaton, Asriel attempts to take his own life before being stopped by Ryoko. But as Ryoko starts to calm him down, Lilith appears to finish the job.
Asriel revives a few days later in Mettaton's house, and then stays to help the robot after learning he went blind after Asriel died. He reunites with Pokey and Ryoko, and then tries to mend things with Dirk and Kakyoin. And later, he helps Pokey drag Mettaton into a Nightmare hunt when Mettaton reveals his soul gem is nearly black. Lilith also ends up contacting him later, and they both apologize to each other.
no subject
Character: Mettaton
Activity: Mettaton mostly kept to himself up until the next Witch hatched, at which point he joined the battle and was mostly relegated to being a punching bag for Solveig. And when Solveig turns all the magi on the three Unforgivable magi, he is the only one to survive. The only one to live and be able to gather Asriel's soul gem, despite being blinded during the battle. Thankfully, he gets some help from Yuri and is able to return home.
Blind and unable to do much of anything, he waits for Asriel to resurrect. Once Asriel did come back, they both spoke about important things. Looks like they're starting to get closer.
Also Dito's an asshole.
When Pokey revived as well, they had plenty to talk about as well. Though not even discussions about how Mettaton felt about everything could stop him from being callous on the mirror network. That's just how he is, huh? Thank god for Pokey and Asriel to stop him from going Nightmare, right?
Haha.
Since that point, he's supported Kakyoin stepping down and tried to make an upbeat address to the city since he got his sight back.
He's trying. He just stinks at it. :')

Character: Dirk Strider
Activity: Dirk went full Dirk this month.
He set out to explore the new area with his brother and parked his ass in a food court to properly enjoy the cuisine of the 21st century, all the while doing work on Sinewave and chatting up anyone who seemed to need it.
Word got out that Sinewave may be compromised due to carelessness from another Magi. Dirk nearly hit the roof with anger, then felt guilt that he may have leaked all the information they had to the enemy by virtue of trusting the other Magi to be more discrete than they're generally known to be. As a result, he set about overhauling the system.
During the Witch, Dirk initially went across the river to see what he could do to help. But after receiving a worried message from Dave, he went back across to protect and comfort his brother. However at the clear signs of distress he was seeing, Dirk dove across the river for the third time. He did his best to take charge of the situation and co-ordinate the Magi.
Unfortunately, his own desperation lead to him nearly getting his head cut off and almost bleeding out on the ground. Dave found him and rushed him to hospital when they returned to the real world. In there, Dirk struggled with doing nothing and recovering. Like, really struggled. He put out a call to the Magi of Nyoi-Cho to stop bickering and pull things together and that went about as well as you can expect.
His favorite tiny horse reappeared not too long after, though. Dirk picked her up on a day trip out of the hospital for some clean clothes and comfort shit, and unfortunately, his older self got a good long look at Cal and with the recent threats lain against him, Dirk made the executive decision to get the fuck out of there. He discovered his Rocket board in the process.
However with his gem dangerously tarnished and his magi reserves running low, he's run into a bit of a problem...
Character: Dito
Activity: Dito started this month off good. He discovered the miracle of Hot topic. He sassed a bunch of people. He was starting to acclimate to life in Nyoi-cho pretty well. he even convinced Lilith to throw rocks at familiars.
However upon entering the boss battle, he found himself faced with a whole new mess and no idea what to do about it. After Bonnie chucked him at the boss he threatened to kill her and attempted to coerce Lilith into doing the same, but ultimately shelved that plan in favor of the big picture. This wouldn't be the last issue he had with the Magi.
Dito was on the front lines during combat with the silhouette familiars of the witch. Unfortunately being a close range fighter in a sea of long ranged combatants, things got messed - Dito ended up taking shots from Madoka and Garviel. After getting hit, he decided that he didn't really want to risk his life fighting for people who he felt didn't consider him and retreated. There, he picked up Lilith's body and gem and Pokey's severed head and retreated home. When they were secure, he sought out Abdul to cash in on his promise to see his severed arms. As they got to talking, Dito ended up revealing his backstory.
He made a network post calling out the Magi of Nyoi-cho for their poor teamwork. When Garviel claimed that his only regret was not hitting a vital area, Dito threw a shitfit and decided that he didn't care about anyone here. This is Not True but let him pretend. He's taken to loudly complaining about the people he dislikes to anyone who will listen.
Character: Sayaka Miki
Activity: A food court outing with Kyouko ends with the two of them finding a note about a fugue state. Sayaka reports it to the other Magi.
During the boss fight Sayaka arrives to help Lilith move Madoka and Sachiko's body away from danger. Sayaka realizes that Sachiko is dead only after moving her and promptly has a freakout. This is just the start of Sayaka Miki's No Good Very Bad Day, as when the possession portion of the Witch begins, she ends up intervening to save Ryoko and Mettaton and snaps Lilith's neck with a punch.
She snaps out of her slump just in time to punch the boss one final time and has since retreated into her house to cope with what happened.
