A Further Announcement
Hello all. While we just had a State of the Game, recent events require a further announcement.
Shikki has decided to step down as a mod. Shikki has always been a valuable member of the game; both as a player and as a mod, and was always there to keep things moving along, while also coming up with some awesome ideas for events and the plot of the game. Without her, Kagaku may not be nearly as amazing, so you all can thank her for that. Her contributions as a mod shall be greatly missed.
As you may realise, this leaves me, Bee, as the sole mod of Soulgemmed. If I may be honest... I am unsure what this means for the game. I say this with no ill will towards anyone, but we have lost an enormous portion of the game. I have no intention of throwing in the towel or closing the game without any warning, but I'm sure I am not the only one who is concerned right now. Logic dictates that I should seek out more mods, but until I have a clearer picture of the future of the game, I don't want to do this. There are many different paths we could take at this moment, and I would like to ask you, the players, what your thoughts are.
Should I continue on as normal, seeking out new co-mods in order to make this feasible? Or perhaps, should the game transition to more of a sandbox-esque style of play, still featuring events but on a much more lax scale? Or should the game move into endgame territory? Is there another option you would like to bring up?
Please, I ask to hear what you all would like. I love this game with all of my heart, and I feel especially in this instance... your opinions are paramount.
Thank you.

i will say that i do not want the game to close, even if it lives on as a sandbox. i'm very invested in the game, and the players. i don't say much on discord, but this is definitely my home game. i plan on sticking around, to the end, if that will be.
maybe... start seeking out mods would be the next step. to gauge interest. if that doesn't help, then think about endgame/sandboxing it. ughhh, i wish i had better options. i know i wouldn't mind helping if you needed lists, or bouncing ideas off of someone.

I definitely don't want to see the game close either, so I will do everything in my power to give you all a damn good time.
listen to this professional mod talkSeriously, this is the kind of input I'm looking to hear <3 Thank you so much for your thoughts.no subject
that is to say, given there's still a pretty good number of us here in general, it wouldn't hurt to see who's willing and available to help before going much further wrt ending or sandboxing the game outright, you know?

i'm really glad to hear that people are still interested. I'm basically dropping my fancy mod facade right now, but my biggest concern was that people were going to take a look at recent developments and decide to leave the game as a result. I didn't want to be trying to keep alive a game where interest is waning, but it's pretty clear already that y'all are indeed the best people in the whole wide world who also REALLY want to suffer more
i love suffering

As for the players, I'm sure it goes without saying we just need to be patient and proactive during this time of transition. So long as we can keep ourselves entertained while the game is reshuffled, it should hold strong. This is a solid system, intriguing plot, and characters who have plenty of personal growth still to come.
And thank you Bee for shouldering the burden on this one. We're behind ya!

thank you thank you thank you!!!!!! there will still be entertainment no matter what! do you think i'd let you go without ANY sort of event? how else would everyone get to be friends with kimiko, that way???

And who wouldn't want to be friends with her? She's delightful!

On one, I'd love for the game to continue. While I don't foresee it continuing as it has, I've enjoyed my time in this game immensely and I don't want to see it close down under any circumstance. I would say for the sake of simplicity that it continuing on as a sandbox-esque game may be nice as well, something low key that would be less taxing on the one mod we have. Seeking out co-mods as well may be a viable option, if anyone were willing to keep things going.
On the other, I feel like while I do adore this game, if it gets to a point where it's difficult to manage and a lot has to drastically change, then it may be better for it to slowly move towards the end. While having a playerbase that can influence the game has always been fantastic, the issue we do run into is that being that our playerbase has always been fairly small to begin with, newer co-mods would leave less to figure things out for events or any of the other mysteries in town, unless we did gain a surge in new players.
I'm going to be with the game regardless of what happens in the future, and I'll support any decision that comes up. I don't want the game to close at all, and I'll do what I can to keep things afloat from the player side.

thank you thank you! honestly, your concern about finding co-mods is one that i share. part of me, selfishly, wants to keep all the fun plot things a secret, because seeing you guys figure things out is so much fun! but that's not really feasible if i were to seek out co-mods, since... that's the whole point of having co-mods? so i'm not doing everything alone.
we shall have to see how things go!

My suggestion, like many others, is to look for at least one co-mod, and I will throw my lot in with you if it's needed. If the co-mod thing doesn't work, then we can talk about moving into sandbox-style play.
A smaller cast could also perhaps mean more personalized events for each character, and so on and so forth. Regardless of what happens, I'll be hanging around for as long as I can.

wheezesseriously though, i'm so glad that everyone is so determined to keep going along with me. it means more than you can imagine! and you certainly bring up a good point about the game being smaller--i'm all for personalised anguish and despair, to be honest!

I love this game and I don't want it to die either! I'm with you guys for the ride.

that's most definitely the plan though! i've got plenty of ideas for more lowkey events, while still being fun for players! that's my big thing... i want things to be fun!!!!
thank you so so much, star <3

I do suggest slow events until you can find a good co-mod.
But I'm here, even after my hiatus. All my <3
