Double the intro, double the fun?
Hey there fellow future Magi, my name is Jess and I'm helping kick off this game with TWO very different characters.
The first is Jade Chan from Jackie Chan Adventures, an ordinary little girl who just so happens to live neck deep in magic and demons. She's an outgoing, excitable preteen who's sometimes too smart for her own good, as she doesn't tend to stop and consider her actions fully. This leads to all sorts of shenanigans and I have no doubt it'll be the same here.
She's from right after helping avert the demonic apocalypse for like...the third time at least and being offered a job as a secret agent. Oh yeah, and her uncle is Jackie Chan, so that should be fun if she meets anyone who's seen the movies. (Movies which are not in any way part of her continuity, although she did try to get Jackie into Hollywood once.)
The second is an AU version of Allen Ridgeley from Xenosaga. He was a more or less ordinary guy from 4300 years in the future, albeit with a genius IQ and employed by the most elite engineering R&D company in the galaxy. Then he died and everything went down the toilet. He's been an incorporeal but immensely powerful ghostly being for the past three years, helping set up for a full scale reset of the history of the universe to ward off the destruction of everything below the realm of God, but he wasn't happy with what that entailed so now he's a magical lich tasked with fighting Nightmares and Witches to...ward off the destruction of the universe. Some things never change.
Compared to Jade, he's a lot more of an introvert, though more out of not exactly being the best at social interaction than out of any aversion to people. He's actually pretty friendly and amiable once he warms up to you, albeit full of snark and sarcasm. But don't let the teasing fool you, he's the most loyal friend you could make, to the point where he'd throw himself in front of a bus (or, just as an example, a rampaging combat android) to save someone important to him. He's a little hesitant to get close to people on account of being dead and thinking he doesn't have a place among the living, but hey, we're all Magi here...right?
As for me, I'm open to people adding me on Plurk at
firebenderjess, and I can't wait for the game to open so I can harrass everyone with Jade and let people come pester Allen.
