June Event Details

It begins with a single text, sent to the phones of every last magi in town. 1. All magi in Nyoi-cho shall participate. 2. After receiving an order from the King, the order must be completed within 24 hours. 3. People who do not complete their order shall be punished. 4. Withdrawing from the game is not allowed. Where there should be a sender's number, there is only blank space; that's the first sign the magi receive that something is wrong, and that the orders they are about to receive are not to be ignored. The King's Game Starting from the 1st, at exactly the stroke of midnight, the magi will begin to receive daily texts with orders to carry out. Some of the orders are generalized; "a magi with a blue soul gem must punch a magi with a red soul gem." Others are more specific, going so far as to single out a particular individual. Beneath the orders that are listed, the name of a magi is written, followed by a declaration. This is today's King. Their order is absolute. The name listed changes from day to day, but it seems that the one whose name is listed has the power to give voice to a single command that they wish to see carried out. Said command will then be sent out to the town via text. The instant that an order is successfully carried out, the same text is sent out to every magi. Execution confirmed. Upon receiving it, the magi can breathe a sigh of relief and know that the danger has passed for the day. However, if by the stroke of midnight an order has been left incomplete... Punishment Punishments for failing to complete an order can vary drastically, ranging anywhere from a multitude of painful ways to die, to loss of one's senses, to something as benign as having the identity of their crush announced via text. There's no telling which punishment a magi will receive if they should ignore an order, but one thing is certain: a punishment will be given out. When a magi receives a punishment, they will find that punishment unavoidable; for example, death will come almost instantaneously for those who are sentenced to death. Even in the event that a magi's punishment seems impossible to carry out (such as a magi submerged in water being punished with spontaneous combustion), it will inexplicably happen one way or another. In Summation... » For the sake of the orders, we ask that each player reply here with a description of their character's soul gem. Include its color, as well as the type of jewelry it becomes when the character is transformed. Where on the magi outfit is it located? What if a King is killed before they can make their order? Or if they've already made one?

If the king is killed before they make their order, a new king will be declared, and that king will receive the chance to make a new order.

If the king has already made their order, the order will stand even if they've been killed, and the magi who killed them (or even only attempted to harm them) will receive a punishment.

How general can the orders be? For example, if the King orders "Get me an ice cream cone," does anyone getting them an ice cream cone fulfill the order, or does something else happen because the people being ordered aren't specified at all?

The order can be as general or as specific as the king wishes! The king can even command a specific person to carry out their demands, if they so wish.

What happens if a King doesn't make an order?

They will be found in violation of rule four and will be subsequently punished and replaced.

You do not get to decide your own punishments.

Since death is a possible punishment or could happen as a result of an order, what happens if a selected king is dead when the day they are chosen to be king comes around?

No worries! We're accounting for that and can ensure that no magi will receive a death punishment right before their scheduled date to be king.

Hypothetical: Every red-gemmed magi must mail one magi of a different gem color a gift card.

What happens if only one red-gemmed magi holds out?

I highly suspect that if Abdul tries to call Kaneko after her video, he will get no answer, but can I get confirmation on that? (Or a 'thread it an see' is fine too.)

Also, answer or no, he is very likely to head into Minami-ku to attempt to find her/her body/soul gem whatever. So how would it work best to set this up? Not sure if I would need to flag someone for an NPC thread or what.

Clarification on voting between kings!

Is the easiest way to do so just to complete the order, or would a magi have to declare via returned text or some other way that they've chosen a king to align with?

Adding onto this question now that it's on my mind: are king alignments anonymous?

laurent wants to remove his kingship candidacy but i don't want to make it difficult on the mods to change his order. is there any way to immediately withdraw and get punished (e.g. declaring so out loud/ on the mirrors)?

In the case of two Kings, do both commands need to be fulfilled at the end of the day?

In the event log, would it be possible to get links to the headers for the week divisions (week 1, week 2, etc) added to main log post? We're all tagging machines and I can only imagine by week three it's going to be very cumbersome to scroll around the page to find a thread. Quick links to each week will help a lot.

Tacking onto an earlier question: on one of the days where there are two Kings, if a magi aligns with one and then decides for whatever reason to attack the other, would that magi be punished?

On that note, what happens if one king decides to go after the other?

Quick question in regards to Luci's punishment for losing the fourth. Would he be immolated immediately after the message of punishment goes out, or have a chance to send a message/take any action before the punishment inevitably arrives?

Clarification for the no bickering order on 6/9! Can a magi intending to follow the order simply put that they didn't argue on the command masterpost or will a formal top level be necessary for it as well?

So with Sandy's recent punishment I just wanted to ask, do I have to have something specifically happen to remove her fingers like getting them slammed in a door, or will the powers that be magically wrench them from her hand without any help?
