October Event Details / Plotting
On the morning of the 21st, a group of magi will be departing from Nyoi-cho for Tsukudo-cho. As such, this will be the first event to span two whole towns. The event will be cooperative in nature, requiring the magi of both towns to work together in order to solve it. In addition to that, the Tsukudo-cho side will be primarily a fourth wall event that will last from the 21st to the 31st. In-game characters with tickets will be leaving Nyoi-cho by train on the morning of the 21st. When they arrive, they will find a dreary little town with reclusive natives - as well as a brand new type of enemy that they've never seen before. Arrival of the Fourth Wallers Fourth wallers will ICly arrive on the morning of the 22nd. They will wake up in houses that are not their own, assigned to families that are not their own. All signs will point to them having lived in this town for a while now - the neighbors know their names, and they apparently are holding jobs or attending classes at the school. However, try as they might, they won't be able to remember anything about their lives in this town. They do, however, know a couple of things. At one point, they were offered a wish by a being named Kyuubey in exchange for traveling to another world as its protector. They became magi as a result. And as magi, it is their duty to fight beings known as "Wraiths." Bestiary Wraiths come in many differing forms, but they have a few traits in common. 1. Their appearance is usually accompanied by wisps of thick, frosty miasma. The more powerful the Wraith, the colder and heavier the miasma accompanying them. 2. Wraiths do not kill people, but they seem to feed off of their emotions. Those who have had all their emotions eaten by Wraiths become soulless, unfeeling husks. 3. Magi who have had at least a portion of their emotions eaten will find that they've lost access to one or more of their powers. In the event that a magi has their powers stolen, they will find that their soul gem has become duller, as if their magical capacity has decreased. In addition to that, Wraiths will be able to use their stolen power against them from that point on. 4. Regular humans cannot see Wraiths. 5. When defeated, Wraiths drop a number of small block-like objects that can be used to purify one's soul gem. Normal Wraith: the weakest and most common type of Wraith. They have bony, pale bodies that are thin to the point of being skeletal, but their body structure is distinctly humanoid. They wear monks' robes. These Wraiths fight with laser beams and emit a weak, pixel-like miasma from their bodies. They are very weak and mostly appear in swarms. Ascetic Wraith: stronger than normal Wraiths and considerably less human. Their bodies burn to the touch. They wield a blazing bronze spear with which they fight magi. There are usually at least one or two of them in each swarm. Enlightened Wraith: stronger than Ascetic Wraiths. Attacks by crushing its foes under its block-shaped viscera. When it appears, ground weathers, steel rots, and machines fail. Its considerable miasma also makes the nearby temperature drop drastically. Its destructive capabilities are immense, but it shows up very rarely. Moksha Wraith: stronger than Enlightened Wraiths. Its attacks are entirely abstract and incomprehensible, and the spike-like 2D triangles it's weaponized are capable of distorting space. When it appears, everything around it is frozen in an instant; magi alone are able to withstand its cold. The rarest and most destructive type of Wraith. Bestiary: Addendum In addition to the previous categories of Wraiths, there is another undocumented category known as Anamnestic Wraiths. These are Wraiths that have taken on human form, and they come in three types. When their true nature is revealed, their true forms can be seen. Type A: Wraiths that feed off of the emotions of magi. They are highly manipulative and will use the knowledge at their disposal to emotionally compromise their target. This means that, given access to portions of the target's emotions and memories, they will sift through those memories for ammunition they can make use of. They usually take on the appearance of the person whom they believe will afford them the biggest advantage - dear friends or family members, in most instances. The more emotions they rob their target of, the duller their target's soul gem becomes. Type B: Wraiths that feed off of the emotions of magi. Unlike the previous type, they are not entirely malicious. They are programmed to think that human emotion is dangerous and that humans would be better off without their emotions, and they will do their best to convince their targets of this. Unlike Type As, their form doesn't seem to be specifically tailored to their host. Could it be that they genuinely possess fragments of the memories and feelings of the person whose form they've chosen to borrow? Type C: Wraiths that have drained a whole spectrum of emotions from one or more magi. They've obtained human hearts and will often have at least some fondness for the magi from whom they've drained emotions from. Their nature is dependent upon the person or persons they obtain their emotions from; a kind and benevolent host will give birth to a more kindly and benevolent Wraith. It's possible that Type As and Bs may evolve into Type Cs when they've drained sufficient energy from their targets. Their instincts as Wraiths are still intact, but they undeniably have human hearts. Gathering Loot As magi explore the town and defeat Wraiths, they will occasionally stumble onto pieces of loot that contain hints to unlocking the truth behind the town. Find all the pieces, and maybe something special will happen! Those who did not hop aboard the train will not be left out of the fun, however. The moment the investigation team leaves, the countdown beneath the school reaches zero. Those who go into the dungeon past that point will find that the elevator is now fully operational and will take them to B2F. The Dungeon ![]() 1: The entrance. Can only be reached by taking the elevator from B1F to B2F. A gigantic screen in front of which a SNES controller sits can be found here. 2: The door is locked. A command console is attached to the door, but it appears to be inactive. Once it is successfully activated, the following text appears. THE ONE SHE SEEKS It seems as if the door will unlock when the correct answer is entered... 3: The door is locked. A command console is attached to the door, but it appears to be inactive. There's loot to be had here! If your investigation team makes it here, send the mods a link to your thread to collect it! 8: For some reason, the instant one enters the door, they will find themselves unable to use any of their magical abilities. Weapons can still be summoned as normal, but... There's loot to be had here! If your investigation team makes it here, send the mods a link to your thread to collect it! 9: The floortiles here shimmer with a strange light. With each step one takes, they can feel their energy being drained away. There's loot to be had here! If your investigation team makes it here, send the mods a link to your thread to collect it! 10: The winding, narrow corridor makes it impossible for magi to walk side-by-side. Fighting in such an environment would prove difficult, especially if one cannot come up with an effective means of avoiding friendly fire. There's loot to be had here! If your investigation team makes it here, send the mods a link to your thread to collect it! 11: Only lies can be voiced in this room. All other sound, vocal or otherwise, is absorbed. There's loot to be had here! If your investigation team makes it here, send the mods a link to your thread to collect it! 12: A hidden room. When the right conditions are met, the wall will recede. There's loot to be had here! If your investigation team makes it here, send the mods a link to your thread to collect it! Bestiary Anamnesis 1: Appears when ??? conditions are met. A wispy horse with a mane of mist. Its specialty is spatial distortion. When its attention is focused on you, getting past it is impossible. Perhaps it could be fooled or distracted in some way... Anamnesis 2: Appears when ??? conditions are met. A cloth toy with large knitting needles for weapons. It has a sewn-on patchwork heart. Weak to psychological attacks. Anamnesis 3: Appears when ??? conditions are met. A vaguely humanoid figure who seems to be perpetually weeping. It can freeze anything with a touch. It's strangely reluctant to attack. However, once it has you in its sights, it'll do anything to keep you from escaping. Attracted to warmth, but weak to heat-based attacks. Lets out a wail upon being defeated. Anamnesis 4: Appears when ??? conditions are met. A magi from the lost past. Doesn't this look just like someone you used to fight alongside?! And those attacks... There's no mistaking it, is there? Doesn't speak, and doesn't take much to defeat. Disappears entirely upon defeat. Anamnesis 5: Appears when ??? conditions are met. Has the figure of a girl in her late teens. A masquerade mask conceals its face, but it looks human in every way. Has regenerative abilities and attacks with a rapier. Loot Collection Once the event goes up, there will be a header specifically for loot claims. When enough pieces of loot are collected, the dungeon might undergo changes! Can the characters in Nyoi-cho interact with the characters in Tsukudo-cho? What about the fourth wallers? Without giving too much away, we will say that the characters in Nyoi-cho will be able to interact with the characters in Tsukudo-cho - and that includes the fourth wallers. In fact, neither side will be able to solve this event without the help of the other, so communication is integral. I want my character to get a train ticket. Where can I sign up for one? Sign-ups are right here! ICly, they were given as a reward for one's participation in the August event, but if you were on hiatus for that or joined the game afterwards, please tell us that in your form. Is this event canon? Will my character remember this after it's over? Yes! Characters absolutely will remember the event after it has ended. Because of that, if you wish to opt out of duplicates of your character appearing, you can do so here. Are the fourth wallers allowed access to any magi powers? Which ones? How many? All fourth wallers are allowed one weapon summon, one active power, and one passive power. You're allowed to choose whichever weapon and powers you want; we will not be policing this. However, please do be considerate of your fellow players and avoid choosing anything that's too godmoddy or infomoddy. If, during the event, I decide that I want to join the game, can I app in my fourth waller and have them keep their memories? Absolutely! However, applications will be closed while the event is going on and will only open on the 1st of November. In addition to that, applications for fourth wall characters will only be accepted during the month of November; if you app in after that point, your character will not be allowed to keep their memories. My character was previously in the game at some point. If I bring them back for this event, can I have them retain their old in-game memories? Yes! Your character will still be unable to remember how or when they came to Tsukudo-cho, however. On top of that, as they were meant to fight Nightmares in Nyoi-cho, they will not have any knowledge of Wraiths. In Summation... » This month's event is a fourth wall event. » The fourth wallers won't ICly appear until the 22nd, but OOCly, players can tag into the event as soon as it goes up! » Both towns will need to work together in order to fully puzzle out the event. Please make use of the mirror network! » This is a post for plotting and questions! Make some plans and tell us who you're bringing! If you have any further questions about this event, please leave them here. |

Re: Raven Queen
What else has Raven been up to.
Re: Raven Queen
Raven's explored the new weapons shop and has been visiting Madoka in the hospital whenever she can, not much else.
