January Event Details / CR Plotting
It's time. Nyoi-cho is a world full of hope. The people bustle about their day in peace. Children laugh, business people work, and this timeless little town smiles cheerily as dawn turns to dusk. However, when night falls, something sinister takes hold. All of the worries locked deep inside begin to fester, tainting peaceful dreams into something dark and twisted. People die in their sleep sometimes. Others simply never wake. And sometimes, people simply go missing... but why worry when you can't hope to change it? The town is ravaged by strangeness, warped by repression, and locked in a never-ending cycle of day and night. At least, they are until tonight. The Birth of a Miracle. Welcome to Nyoi-cho! Your characters will arrive from that world between worlds and enter directly into a nightmare. I hope they're ready to hit the ground running, this will be their first true test as magi. But not to fear, little fighters; this is the dream of a sick child. Their soul is not yet corrupted enough to pose much of a threat, so as long as you keep your wits about you survival will not be hard! The nightmarescape is primarily composed of bright colors, toys, and fragments of games - but there's a sinister, malformed look to them. Familiars appear as shadows or corrupted toys. The First Night. You'll find yourself in a completely unfamiliar place. The world looks like a child's playroom, all bright colors and simple shapes. Skyscrapers made of building blocks and stagnant, stiff clouds against a too-blue sky dot the oddly sparse landscape. At first, you might feel at ease. Perhaps you're accustomed to strange settings, or perhaps this is merely more peaceful than what you were in before. But before long, you hear voices. They babble to one another in incomprehensible voices, chattering in the shadows and following you as you slowly pick your way across this bizarre city. Just when you think you're safe, the creatures make themselves known. Surrealist impressions of toys and children's fairytales come from the woodwork, and while they were once keen to follow and watch, they know want to play with you. It's just a shame their games are lethal. The goal is to survive. Get accustomed to your abilities, learn how to fight, transform and test your new limitations. It won't be easy - the only word you have is the word of Kyubey, and it seems that he could not follow you into this place. The Second Night. As the nights wear on, you'll find that survival is becoming harder. The labyrinthine nature of the nightmare might begin to take its toll as you struggle to find a way out, and characters will find that it will become easier to start giving in to doubt and fear. Part of the reason for this will be the second group of familiars that show up. These are 'bogeymen' like familiars, creatures that appear to be floating pairs of eyes draped under carpets or around dark corners. Unlike the other familiars, the bogeymen aren't there to actively attack characters: rather, their presence helps dredge up feelings of fear and terror in those who see them, whether it be by making the characters think of frightening events in their lives or just downright heightening the terror or doubt they may already feel. They can be destroyed/cleansed like any other familiar, though as long as characters are in their presence, they'll feel more put off and frightened than usually. The Third Night. What sort of sight awaits the characters when they finally make it to the center of the nightmarescape? You'll have to wait and see! |

Character: Asriel Dreemurr
Wish/Powers: here.
Info: Asriel is a child monster! He's pretty soft-hearted, likes playing pranks, doing kid stuff. He's also a little bit of a pushover and he cries pretty easily. But he really does want to help people, and he is strong willed where it really counts. He's also a lonely kid, and due to the events in the Post-Pacifist ending, he's recovering from a lot of guilt issues.
In the nightmare world, he'll generally be panicking a lot and figuring out his powers. In Nyoi-cho, he'll be trying to learn about his new abilities and trying to figure out why he got a second chance.
Seeking: What kind of CR are you looking for? Any kind! Friends, people to push him around, attack him, maybe someone to have some monster vs. human discussions with? Also... maybe a babysitter.
Anything else:

She'll probably drag him into all kinds of trouble, though, since she's a rule breaker and one of those types more timid kids tend to just go along with because she seems so confident.

I look forward to their pranking/trouble shenanigans!

Although she might be a little confused by the fact that he looks like an anthopomorphic goat plushie, given the nightmare setting.

So, for a basic summary: Madoeka here got turned into a monster, forced to do some really awful things (some in the name of the greater good, some for basic survival), and is recovering from some pretty horrible guilt and anxieties herself. I'd love to throw her this small boss monster's way, if you're okay with it!
also madoka can babysit, she swears
having arms that are like four feet long helps

demonmonster vs. human stuff, but Vergil's pretty biased on that issue. That'd definitely be an interesting talk. Also child. Precious child. Let Vergil teach you how to use that sword properly so you can be cool and capable and stuff.
