January Event Details / CR Plotting
It's time. Nyoi-cho is a world full of hope. The people bustle about their day in peace. Children laugh, business people work, and this timeless little town smiles cheerily as dawn turns to dusk. However, when night falls, something sinister takes hold. All of the worries locked deep inside begin to fester, tainting peaceful dreams into something dark and twisted. People die in their sleep sometimes. Others simply never wake. And sometimes, people simply go missing... but why worry when you can't hope to change it? The town is ravaged by strangeness, warped by repression, and locked in a never-ending cycle of day and night. At least, they are until tonight. The Birth of a Miracle. Welcome to Nyoi-cho! Your characters will arrive from that world between worlds and enter directly into a nightmare. I hope they're ready to hit the ground running, this will be their first true test as magi. But not to fear, little fighters; this is the dream of a sick child. Their soul is not yet corrupted enough to pose much of a threat, so as long as you keep your wits about you survival will not be hard! The nightmarescape is primarily composed of bright colors, toys, and fragments of games - but there's a sinister, malformed look to them. Familiars appear as shadows or corrupted toys. The First Night. You'll find yourself in a completely unfamiliar place. The world looks like a child's playroom, all bright colors and simple shapes. Skyscrapers made of building blocks and stagnant, stiff clouds against a too-blue sky dot the oddly sparse landscape. At first, you might feel at ease. Perhaps you're accustomed to strange settings, or perhaps this is merely more peaceful than what you were in before. But before long, you hear voices. They babble to one another in incomprehensible voices, chattering in the shadows and following you as you slowly pick your way across this bizarre city. Just when you think you're safe, the creatures make themselves known. Surrealist impressions of toys and children's fairytales come from the woodwork, and while they were once keen to follow and watch, they know want to play with you. It's just a shame their games are lethal. The goal is to survive. Get accustomed to your abilities, learn how to fight, transform and test your new limitations. It won't be easy - the only word you have is the word of Kyubey, and it seems that he could not follow you into this place. The Second Night. As the nights wear on, you'll find that survival is becoming harder. The labyrinthine nature of the nightmare might begin to take its toll as you struggle to find a way out, and characters will find that it will become easier to start giving in to doubt and fear. Part of the reason for this will be the second group of familiars that show up. These are 'bogeymen' like familiars, creatures that appear to be floating pairs of eyes draped under carpets or around dark corners. Unlike the other familiars, the bogeymen aren't there to actively attack characters: rather, their presence helps dredge up feelings of fear and terror in those who see them, whether it be by making the characters think of frightening events in their lives or just downright heightening the terror or doubt they may already feel. They can be destroyed/cleansed like any other familiar, though as long as characters are in their presence, they'll feel more put off and frightened than usually. The Third Night. What sort of sight awaits the characters when they finally make it to the center of the nightmarescape? You'll have to wait and see! |

Contact: Firebenderjess on Plurk, AIM or Skype. Skype is currently best due to computer issues.
Character: Jade Chan
Wish/Powers: here.
Info: Jade is an ordinary little girl with boundless energy, ambition and very sharp wits. She loves cookies, amusement parks and learning awesome kung fu so she can help rid the world of magical evil, with occasional mishaps with her own use of magic.
Okay, so maybe she's not quite so ordinary. Life as a magical girl won't be too different from what she's used to, but living alone? That will be a challenge. She's going to be running wild without her uncle around to tell her not to do things, so expect the typical results of a troublemaking child who just realized there's no rules. She means well, though, so she'll help other people out where she can. Just. Uh. Don't expect her 'help' to always be a good thing.
Seeking: Any and all. Jade is always looking to make new friends, and she could use some babysitter figures to help her out when her impulsiveness gets her into major trouble.
Character: Allen Ridgeley
Wish/Powers: here.
Info: Allen was once an ordinary programmer working for a major company...but then he died. He spent the past three years as a deific ghost called a Testament, working to reset time on the grandest scale in an effort to fend off the end of the universe. This has left him a little bit messed up, not to mention entirely out of practice with basic social interactions. He's still a basically decent guy, but rather tactless and incredibly lacking in self-esteem and self-worth. He also extremely lacks presence, so it's quite possible people might forget he's in the room if he's not doing anything and they aren't actively thinking about him.
Since he hasn't had a body in three years, he's going to be spending his time early on adjusting to being corporeal again. He has some baggage about relationships with the living, so people might need to smack him over the head a bit to get him to stop viewing all of his interactions as professional, but he's a good and loyal friend once he considers you as much.
Seeking: Outgoing people to drag him out of his shell. His powers are geared towards teamwork, so let's get him some people he'd be willing to tank for, huh?
Anything else: Having some computer issues right now that seem to be resolving themselves but are unpredictable, so if I vanish at random times, that's probably why. That, or I got dragged away for something or other.

Or to remorselessly attempt to kill people who endanger her loved ones?no subject
Borrowing things can be debatable, but sometimes that's okay too.
Killing those who endanger your loved ones is absolutely fine.

She gives them back! Eventually! ...Usually.
Oh, good, because she kind of already has a history of that. Though the only time she succeeded was with a demon and he kept coming back, so it's debatable if it even counts as success.

When did he become popular with the kids

And it's the cool and mysterious demeanor, Vergil. Kids love it.
