Power Regain

As a reward for this month's event, all characters can get one power regain.

This month is, however, a little different! Every character will receive one brand new mid-leveled power. This means that, unlike the other power regains we've had thus far, this power can be as strong as a power that has been upgraded once; it is not a base power.

Request: Magical bullets for her shotgun! At level one, they'd have just been Generically Magic, but she can have different kinds of magic ammo now, starting with Ice Bullets that freeze the Baddies.

The Magic Bullets are just... shotgun shells she imbues with magic. That means they still have the same limitations as shotgun pellets: large spread but short range. The magic effects are spread out over those pellets, so the more of them hit the target, the stronger the effect. Stage one is just Generic Magic bullets, sturdier than the ones she'd just buy off the street.

The ice bullets, going from this theme, will be imbued with magic energy that makes enemies freeze. The freeze effect will be stacked by how many pellets hit. Just a graze will just cause a chilly sensation, whereas a direct hit on, say, the arm, would make that freeze, and a direct hit over a whole person would make them freeze. Frozen folks can be shattered, whether by the Baddie in question or someone in the Magi Party. Also, these effects only last as long as her magic stamina does, so once she's out, everybody's unfrozen.

Request: Fatalità - An upgrade to/replacement for Chiaroveggenza; instead of just showing where enemies are, it color-codes their potential weaknesses; a target's entire body would show up as a silhouette, but their weak point(s) would be colored red. It's still only visible in Kakyoin's visor and maintains the 25ft limit; overextension of using it for longer than five seconds would temporarily strain and weaken his eyesight.

Request: Wing Manipulation: Increased pliability to her wings. She'll be able to manipulate her wings to a higher degree than just hardening them into blades. This will allow her to do things similar to this, stretching and twisting her wings to suit her fighting style in close range. The mass of her wings will not change, so there is a limited range to which she can try to stretch them out before it just... kinda... turns floppy and limp and can't support itself.

Request: Increased Agility: Taiga's agility will increase, allowing her to move at a much faster pace and jump farther. Imagine the whole jumping across roof tops thing, but also imagine her clumsy self tripping over a rock and skidding 20 feet along the ground. Taiga's speed will top out at around 30 MPH in a sprint, which she can only sustain for short distances.

In addition, this will have the entirely cosmetic effect of giving Taiga little meow meow feetsies when she's transformed, and a digitigrade stance.

Rocket Power. Dirk gets the ability to summon and ride his rocket board.

  • The Rocket Board cannot exceed speeds of 60 MPH and the altitude is limited to about twenty feet higher than the tallest building in the greater Nyoi-Cho area, or any barriers. Which ever he hits first

  • Dirk can carry one other person on the Rocket Board, but doing so dramatically decreases the speed and altitude.

  • If the board is damaged, Dirk cannot resummon it for 24 hours.

  • If the board is damaged, Dirk takes damage. If the board is destroyed, it will fucking explode because it's full of rocket fuel, it will take out a huge chunk of Dirk's magic and leave physical injuries regardless of his proximity to it. He won't be able to summon it again for a week.

    Phanuel. As a Disciple, Dito has the ability to summon a being called an angel. This can typically only be done with the aid of an Intoner, as a Disciple summoning an Angel without their power is done at the sacrifice of their physical form.

    So. You know. This isn't going to be great for him.

    To summon Phanuel Dito must be capable of spitting out the full incarnation.

    "Behold the fifth song: Grand Light of Antiquity! The great power made manifest... The ceremony of glorious arrival... Burn into thine eyes the punishing lance of divine retribution! I, Dito, summon thee in my name... Phanuel, arise!"

    The version of Phanuel that Dito summons is only about the size of a large dog and moves incredibly slowly. The only worthwhile attack it has is the ability to launch pressurized water jets from its back.

    When Phanuel is on the field Dito cannot do any other form of attack or break his concentration. It is an enormous strain on his soul gem to maintain this and he cannot maintain Phanuel's presence on the battle field for more than five minutes, and while he will not take any damage Phanuel receives, any magical attacks Phanuel uses draw from his magic and so it adds to the burden. When Phanuel is despawned Dito will collapse.

    Request: Temporal rewind - Dave can rewind an object or person to the state they were in up to five hours ago. Say he accidentally knocks a vase over and shatters it - he would be able to restore it to its unshattered state. Using this, he might be able to erase the existence of a person's injuries; however, he can only use this move once per day, and he can only go back five hours at max. This means that he won't be restoring any antiques to the state they were in when they were first crafted, and he won't be resurrecting anyone who died days ago.

    Request: If Ellen binds someone with her rose vines, she can give them a selection of three questions to choose from. That person can then pick two to abstain from answering, but they will be forced to answer the remaining question truthfully.

    Request: When Jimmy is feeling good about himself (for example, if he's successfully humiliated his opponent or dodged an attack), a regal cape will appear on his magi outfit, and he'll receive a slight offensive boost to his attacks. If things then continue to go well for him or he gets a gigantic ego boost somehow (such as, say, in the form of praise from his teammates), a crown will then appear on his head, giving him a sizable offensive boost - so much so that he may give someone a light pat on the shoulder and end up slamming them into the floor, to give an example. It would only last so long as his ego remained inflated, and it would put a greater toll on both his body and his soul gem.

    Request: Latticework barrier - Kyouko can summon a multitude of red chains that she can control telekinetically. The chains can be used either offensively or defensively and, in the case of the latter, be formed into a 2 m x 2 m shield. Keeping the chains out burns through her magic rapidly.

    BASE POWER: Summoning of ice spears, which are meant to be thrown and drain his telekinesis less. Each spear has an individual cooldown of 1hr. He can summon at most 4, either individually or simultaneously. On impact, the shaft collapses inwards to create a patch of ice for extra freeze damage.

    UPGRADE: He can summon other ice items now, as long as they have equal or less mass than 4 spears. Ice throwing knives, ice figurines.

    Oh, also: everything under this power sparkles.

  • This allows for Rue to regain energy at a quicker pace, offering some mitigation to the fact that Rue's brand of healing drains her.

  • The percentage rate for regeneration is 20% faster, as befits a mid-level power.

  • Put in more practical terms, if she's at full health and heals with no rest in between, this will allow her to heal a couple more times before she is drained completely.

  • The usual caveats apply - the healing is taken out of her own hp, so to speak, and she can still only transfer up to 10% of her own energy at a time.

    Request: Rosa Bambola - A duplication power which allows Madoka to summon and control a decoy of herself to send into a battle, primarily as a distraction for the enemy. This duplicate (which would look like what is pictured in the icon) has no powers and abilities. At base power, she can only summon one decoy that is easily destroyed in one hit. She can use this power a maximum of three times before she is unable to use her magic in a battle.

    At mid-level power, Madoka is, at her own choice, able to either summon two decoys that can be destroyed in one hit or one decoy that can be destroyed in two hits. Again, she can only use this power a maximum three times in a battle before her magic is exhausted.

    Request: Shield Summon Upgrade: Thinking Outside the Box - No longer restricted to just a half circle of protection, Diarmuid's shields now lend themselves to more creative uses. Need to cross that floor covered in lava? They can be used as stepping stones. Need a couple of steps to get from one level to another? Sure thing. Have a friend falling to their doom in pit of spikes? Make a platform! (Not that the magi ever need to worry about those kinds of things in this city.)

    While his shields have been strengthen so they can bear weight, they work best for the smaller magi among their group. People the size of Madoka or Bonnie he would be able to hold with ease, people closer to his own size would be a strain, while someone the size and weight of Garviel (complete with armor) would break right through the shield's surface. He can only catch, lift, etc one person at a time, and he cannot use this ability on himself. Should the shield be broken due to too much weight or some other outside force, Diarmuid will be hit with a splitting headache that will prevent him from being able to use his shields for several hours afterward.

    Finally, as his shields are an empathic power, they are still bound by his empathic power restrictions (cannot be used after Time Stop and increased soul gem darkening when empathic abilities are rapidly switched between).

    Request: Fire Summon Upgrade: Medium Familiar/Construct - A Stand By Any Other Name - In addition to upgrading the amount of fire Abdul can summon at once, he can manipulate the summoned fire into a medium-sized shape or familiar, no larger two feet tall. The form can be anything from basic shapes, letters etc, to something more complex like an ankh. The familiar, though, tends to default to a small child-like version of a figure very well known to him. It has no mind of its own, instead acting as Abdul remembers his Stand acting when he was a child. The familiar is also bound by a tighter restriction than the rest of his fire, only able to move three feet from him before vanishing, but it can shoot small streams of flame from its mouth and shoot small fireballs from its hands.

    If Abdul summons a familiar or creates a construct, it will require all of his available fire no matter if the construct/familiar is actually smaller than his limit. In order to summon more fire, he will need to dismiss the familiar or construct. The familiar alone can break the time limit for his fire summoning, but any damage done to it reflects back to Abdul (just as damage to his Stand would have reflected back to him). In addition, if something destroys the familiar, Abdul will be knocked unconscious by the reflected damage.

    Request: Pain Train Sprinting into enemies hurts and staggers them more than any normal attack would. This requires a 10 second cooldown before use again and drains a good chunk of magic. He can only sprint in a straight line for this to take effect.

    Request: Information Manipulation: Gary can temporarily make targets forget bits of information, from things he has just told them to how to use a pencil. The 'forgetfulness' only lasts for five seconds. For that duration his magic is being drained up until they remember again. (obviously this is done with player permission) He can also give information with the same stipulations, except he has to have knowledge of the info he's sharing himself. For example, he can share what information he knows for how to play piano for five seconds.

    Request: Troubles & Time - Focusing her magic, B.B. Hood gains the ability to perceptively slow down time. Though everything else around her is still moving at real time, she's able to focus herself and have a quicker reaction speed to attacks, as well as give her a boost to accuracy as she attempts to aim and fire at whatever comes her way. It is, in essence, Bullet Time. However, she can only use it for five seconds at a time-- and it does come with a three minute cooldown period.

    Request: Space Manipulation - Ryoko gains the ability to distort space in front of her utilizing a weapon. With it, if she moves her weapon in a certain way, she's able to create a distortion that will either act as a pushback shield, or a slashing attack. It's upgraded in that initially, she would have only been able to use it as a way to deflect mild attacks back at enemies, a la her Closed Space. As a mid-level ability, she's able to use it the opposite way as well-- instead of creating a translucent space to protect herself or anyone she's close to, she's able to slash at the air and remove space, creating a semi-powerful slash attack.

    They both take up a bit of magic, the latter more than the former.

    Request: Karamatsu Illusion - Shining Form - Karamatsu gains the ability to project small beams of light from his shield, generally in the shape of really obnoxiously glowing stars. They don't do much in the way of attack power, but they're plenty distracting and is like getting attacked by little glowing pebbles constantly.

    The upgrade is he can charge up his shield's ability, he can make one shape out of those stars. It takes a ridiculous amount of magic, but is really, really goddamn painful for anything that gets in the crosshairs. Not enough to kill someone-- he hopes. He can only use it once per battle and he'll be pretty damn spent after that.

    Character: Jughead Jones

    Request: "Healthy" Meals - Jughead's wish enabled him the ability to summon food out of nowhere. To this point, there wasn't really anything useful to them aside from Jughead being able to feed himself without the faintest amount of struggle. While he's transformed on the other hand, he's able to now summon food that'll heal whoever eats it: three pizza rolls for a small health boost, and a burger for a bigger health boost. They don't do much to heal wounds, but it's good as a way to revitalize someone while they're feeling like death. Think Senzu Beans.

    Oddly enough, a small floating pink heart will appear over any healing food he's able to summon, and blinks in three stages to indicate usage. The blinking getting more and more frequent as he starts to run low. As such, the greater the boost, the less he's able to use it: the burger uses up two stages and the rolls use up one. After the heart's done blinking, it plinks out of existence and the food he summons will no longer be able to heal.

    Request: SHELL SHOT. Lemmy can turn himself into his own ranged attack by withdrawing into his shell and launching himself. Other magi can see where he's aiming thanks to the crosshairs that magically appear in the air. The downside being that if he's shooting himself along with someone else's ranged attacks he can get caught in the AoE and get injured as a result.

    Request: Kemurikage smoke form: Azula is able to shroud herself in black smoke and become an swift moving intangible wrath for a limited time. Unable to touch or be touched this form is best for avoiding damage and escaping or sneaking into places. However being that she is smoke she is susceptible to obstacles such as wind, weather and solid objects. She can only pass around solid objects not through them.

    Request: I think MTT's got enough powers to be going on rn, so if I could just update his Scythe Manipulation, that would be awesome!

    Since this is base + 1 update, I'm going to request a buff slightly more ambitious than usual.

    Mettaton gains the ability to summon a sixth scythe. Controlling six would now default to the same level of strain as controlling 5 did before (60-80% short-circuit chances), but now he can successfully control 3 without interruption, and will only minimally strain summoning 4. Even still, if he summons 4-5, he's still able to be distracted and lose control, but he has a lesser chance of shorting out from overuse. (30-40%). Shorting out still puts him out of commission for six seconds before he regains his senses.

    Base Power: Diana is able to create tangible child-like figures that fight for and protect her. They appear almost as if made by shadow and are featureless.
    Limitations:
    >Diana must be in pain and, most importantly, bleeding to summon the children.
    >The children cannot be out of Diana's sight line or they will disintegrate into mist.
    >The figures can only take the forms of humans aged 0 - 15.
    >She can create up to 5 of these figures but it is based upon the size of the 'child'. For example, she can make 5 if they appear around the age of 5, 3 if around the age of 10 and just 1 if around the age of 15.
    >If the children are injured, Diana experiences abdominal pains which increase to the point of being crippling, at which point the children disappear.
    >Because 'the pain of losing a child' is so great, Diana will be winded for 5-10 minutes after the children disappear and can only do this 3 times a day, with at least 3 hours cooldown.
    >The children can only take on the physical properties of literal children, meaning they do not possess powers and can only really attack or defend with their own bodies. As she learns to control it, which will take awhile, she could make them stronger, for example, she could make a very large teenager with the body of a rugby player, but it'd still be a human 15 year old's body.
    >The children act on instinct to protect Diana or the people she wishes to protect, she initially has no control over them.

    Upgrade: Diana is able to create up to 10 of the children if 10 or under in appearance and 5 if over 10 in appearance. She can now summon 5 times a day but cooldown remains the same.
    She can now also give them simple instructions and, as such, they can use weapons if given them. However, only about as well as an untrained human can. Similarly, if she gets them to carry something, again, it can only be something a normal human of the same size could carry. Basically, their strength hasn't increased at all, just their applicability.

    Obviously, it's going to take Diana a while to master using this, especially considering she'll never want to use this power ever. So, she's not even really going to be able to summon the bigger kids for a month or so.

    Request: Requesting an enhancement to Pokey's teleportation power.

    Pokey can now teleport another person. This has to be a person that he can see, and much like his own teleportation, he can only teleport them 15ft away from their current location. He can only teleport one person at a time, and cannot teleport himself while teleporting another person.

    However, the definition of 'person' would include familiars/human sized opponents, allowing the teleportation to be used offensively. These means that Pokey could teleport fling an opponent against an object/surface, such as against the inside of his dome if they were trapped inside it with him, or against other objects if not within his dome. Again, he can only use this against one person at a time, and cannot teleport around while teleporting another creature/person.

    Request: Luster Candy - For one battle per day, Lucifer can greatly increase his physical strength and speed. Considering the limits put on his body that he usually has, his strength increase during this period would put him at the strength of a decent adult body builder, and his speed at a talented marathon sprinter.

    Due to the magic it takes, Lucifer is only capable of doing this once a day, and will be weakened once the high wears off after the battle.

    Request: Flash Stepping - Bro Strider Mix - Bro, like Dave, can flashstep. This allows him to move at incredibly fast speeds, seemingly covering short distances almost instantaneously.

    Alongside this, Bro can leave an afterimage of himself mid flash-step in order to confuse the shit out of enemies.
